John William Barrett passed away Friday, May 11, 2018, at his residence in Roman Nose State Park, near Watonga, Oklahoma.
He was born June 23, 1956, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Roy and Addleen (Hill) Barrett. Among his interests in early childhood were model airplanes and train sets. He served honorably in the United States Navy, spending much of that time in a submarine. In fact, he was the official photographer while on the submarine. He was a small engine aircraft pilot and continued his love of motorcycles and photography. He also played the guitar and sang along. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in the UK as well as the USA. He worked as a computer technician and had taught computer science classes at Vo-Tech. He also liked firearms and enjoyed going to the gun range. He loved assembling and flying RC (remote controlled) airplanes and helicopters. His most recent job was hosting at RV parks at various Oklahoma lakes.
Survivors include a son: John “Johnny” William Barrett II, of Connecticut; a daughter: Hannah Catherine Barrett, United Kingdom; one grandson and one granddaughter.
