Phil Ellis

     Funeral service for Phil Ellis, age 65, of Frederick, Oklahoma, was  held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2018, at the First Christian Church, Frederick, with Reverend Les Banks, officiating.

     Mr. Ellis passed away Monday, April 23, 2018, at  his home in Frederick.

     Burial was in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Orr Gray Gish Funeral Home.

     He was born October 31, 1952, in Frederick, Oklahoma, to Gerald Dean and Katherine (Moring) Ellis. He grew up in Frederick and attended Frederick schools graduating with the Class of 1970. After high school, he attended college at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, in Weatherford, and Cameron University, in Lawton. He was united in marriage to Christine “Chris” Ramirez on April 19, 1979, in Frederick. When they were first married, they lived in Burkburnett, Texas, for a couple of years and Phil worked in accounting. He returned to Frederick and worked for his brother in accounting as an Enrolled Agent at Ellis CPA Firm. He was a BIG OU Sooners fan. He enjoyed fishing and watching movies, especially John Wayne. He was a huge animal lover.

     He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother: Mike Ellis; and his mother-in-law: Jo Ramirez.

     Survivors include his wife: Chris, of the home, in Frederick; a daughter: Lauren Garza and fiancé Jonathan Timms, of Lawton; two granddaughters: Lucy and Brooke; a son: Philip Michael Ellis and wife Cayla, of Frederick; a sister: Pam Mitchell and husband Jerry, of Frederick; a sister-in-law: Julie Orebaugh, of Indianapolis; a brother-in-law: Richard Ramirez, of Carnegie; and a host of nieces and nephews.
