Tony "Coach" Clendening, of Frederick, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2017, in Lawton, Oklahoma. at the age of 49 years, eight months and 10 days. Tony was born on March 19, 1968 in Sycamore, Illinois, to Charles Richard and Wilma Jean (Knight) Clendening. He attended school in Sycamore, Illinois. Tony received his G.E.D. from Eufaula High School. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Tony worked as a 6th grade Science teacher in Frederick for four years. While teaching, he also coached girl's slow pitch and fast pitch softball and assisted with the boy's baseball. Tony used his own time to make sure the fields were mowed and in good shape. Survivors include: his daughters, Tiffany Clendening, of Frederick, OK; Christina Clendening, of Tulsa, OK; brothers, Kevin Clendening and wife, Maryann, of Las Vegas, NV; Charles Clendening, of Eufaula, OK; sisters, Dawn Clendening, of Eufaula, OK; Sheri Ballard, of Onapa, OK; and granddaughter, Melody, of Frederick, OK. He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Clarence Edward "Eddie" Clendening; and one sister, Cindy McClain. A memorial service was held at 4:00 p.m., Monday, December 4, 2017 at the Kelley Memorial Chapel. A second memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 11, 2017 at the Frederick High School Gym (Bomber Hangar) in Frederick, Oklahoma. Memorial contributions may be made to the Frederick girls softball team.
