Alfredo "Freddie" Duarte went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 28, 2017. He passed away in Lawton, Oklahoma, at the age of 64 years eight months and 23 days. He was born June 5, 1952, in El Campo, Texas, to Frederico and Juanita (Marmalejo) Duarte. His family was a migrant working family and he grew up moving around often. Among many of the places he lived, include: Colorado, Idaho and Nevada. They eventually moved to the Snyder, Oklahoma, area. He was united in marriage to Erma Cardona on April 18, 1975, in Snyder. He worked in the automotive industry as a mechanic/auto detail/service. He was employed with Wilmes Chevrolet and later Wilmes Ford, where he retired due to his health. He loved his family, especially his grandkids. He had a passion for working on cars. He enjoyed watching old western movies and the Andy Griffith Show. He also loved to go to Church and attend the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church, in Frederick. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sons: Freddie, Jr., Richard and Phillip; a daughter: Misty; a brother: Alfredo; and two sisters: Martha and Adella. Survivors include his wife: Erma Duarte, of the home in Frederick; a daughter: Gracie Janz and husband Chris, of Frederick; two brothers: Ascencion “Sonny” Duarte and wife Mary Ellen, of Snyder, and Robert Duarte and wife Teresa, of Mt. Park; four sisters: Frances Villa, Mt. Park, Juanita Garay and husband Carlos, of Snyder, Delia Gonzalez, of Snyder, and Mary Duarte, of Mt.
