Lee Wayne "Buddy" Burden went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 16, 2017. He passed away at his home in Mantiou, Oklahoma, at the age of 76 years, three months and 29 days. He was born October 17, 1940, in Palestine, Texas, to Leonard Elijah and Ruby Vivian (Hudson) Burden. He grew up and attended school at Palestine. After graduating high school, he entered the United States Army on June 17, 1959, in Dallas, Texas. He served overseas in the Philippines and Thailand and was honorably discharged on June 7, 1962, at Oakland, California, as a SP4. He was united in marriage to Onita Neugebauer on July 25, 1964, in Vernon, Texas. They moved to Frederick and later back to Manitou. He worked as an airplane for mechanic for Cooper Airmotive, Aviall and GE, in Frederick, Mesquite, Texas, California, and then back in Oklahoma. He loved photography, especially scenic nature scenes and gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife: Onida Burden, January 30, 2011; and a sister: Gay Lynn Jones. Survivors include two daughters: Cindy Stephens and husband Gary, of Frederick; Denise Cason, also of Frederick; a son: Doyle Rains, of Owasso; a brother: Joe G. Burden, of Texas; two sisters: Jonnie Battle and Elane Howard, both of Texas; seven grandchildren: Tim, Sam, Heather, Stormy, Lee, Kelly and Stacy; and five great grandchildren: Emily, Sloane, Alex, Harper and Lydia Lee.
