Margaret Viola (Loftis) Fry went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 26, 2016. She passed away in Humble, Texas, at the age of 96 years, six months and 25 days. She was born July 31, 1919, in Durant, Oklahoma, to Hampton Bradley “H. B.” and Evie Viola (Coker) Loftis. Her father passed away when she was young and she was reared by not only her mother, but her step-father Claude E. Jackson as well. She grew up in Oak Grove and attended school there until moving to southwest Oklahoma in 1931. She graduated high school at Manitou. She was united in marriage to Thomas Eugene “Gene” Fry on August 17, 1937, at the Manitou Methodist Church. Margaret farmed with her husband on their land until they retired in 1979. She moved to Austin, Texas, to be with family. She enjoyed reading, watching films, and listening to music (Elvis and operas). She was a longtime member of the First Christian Church of Frederick. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Gene Fry, on February 26, 1995; four brothers: H. B. Bradley, Voyn “Ray” Jackson, Dale Jackson and Wayne Jackson; three sisters: Inez Manning, Doris Martes and Wanda Lou Kriss. Survivors include two daughters: Nita Jean Plott and husband Paul, of Houston, Texas, and Nancy Mathews and husband Steve, of Austin, Texas; four grandchildren: Lara Mathews Farahani and husband Cyrus, Alan Plott and wife Sally, Julie Ivonye and husband Paul, and Tracy Taylor and husband Jeff; and great grandchildren: Drew, Katie and Hannah Plott, Maddie and Elena Ivonye, Ava and Chase Taylor, and Miranda Farahani; and also a sister-in-law: Claire Newberry and numerous nieces and nephews.Orr Gray Gish Funeral Home(580) 335-2112
