Nancy A. Stiles went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 15, 2015. She passed away in Temple, Texas, at the age of 101 years, two months and 11 days. She was born July 4, 1914, in Frederick Oklahoma, to W.R. and Clara (Hartwig) Anderson. She graduated from Tipton High School and obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Oklahoma, School of Journalism, at Norman, Oklahoma in 1938. She was united in marriage to Jesse Harmon Stiles on January 6, 1942, in Frederick Oklahoma, while her husband was serving in WWII. He preceded her in death in 1997. She worked at the Clinton Daily News, Clinton Oklahoma, Frederick Press Newspaper, sports editor for the Daily Oklahoman, and also for the Department of Agriculture. Mrs. Stiles got a masters degree in Education Science at Oklahoma State University, in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1968. She then worked as the Junior High school librarian at Henrietta, Oklahoma. In 1980, she retired and moved back to Frederick. She was a member of the American Association of University Women, Kappa Kappa Iota Sorority, PEO, and the First United Methodist Church, Frederick, Oklahoma. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Stiles was preceded in death by a son: Dr. James A. "Jim" Stiles on March 1, 2004. She is survived by one son: Jess Stiles and wife Roberta, of Liphook, Great Britain; and one daughter: Nancy Radebaugh and husband Lyle, of Salado, Texas; three grandchildren (two grandsons and one granddaughter); and one great grandson.
