Della Modean "Dean" Timms went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 4, 2015. She passed away at her home in Chattanooga, Oklahoma, at the age of 88 years, seven months and 24 days. She was born December 10, 1926, in Manitou, Oklahoma, to Chester and Clara (Hughes) Pounds. She was united in marriage to Clifford H. "Jaybo" Timms, Jr. on June 22, 1943, in Enid, Oklahoma. In addition to raising five children, she and her husband owned and operated The Hollister Grocery & Hardware. She later worked in Frederick at Betsy Bra, Centra Leather Goods and Schlegel. In her younger years she enjoyed bowling and swimming. Dean loved her church fellowship, spending time with friends, baking, traveling and playing games/cards. Dean was a very talented seamstress and loved to crotchet. She was a tireless worker, never complained; but, she may be mostly remembered by her sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing love and faith. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years, during which time she held many offices. Dean had unwavering faith in God and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chattanooga, Oklahoma. She was greatly loved and will be forever missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband on November 13, 1996; two sisters: Billie Cunningham and Bobbie Woodmore. Survivors include two sons: Chester Timms and wife Elaine, of Grandfield, and Jack Timms and Shannon, of Chattanooga; three daughters: Della Stuckey, Susie Fisher and husband Dennie, and Jayna (Slagle) Phillips and husband Ron, all of Chattanooga; one brother-in-law: Burl Timms and wife Judy, of Elk City; one sister-in-law Vida Armstrong, of Frederick; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews including a special nephew: Jeff Cunningham and a long time family friend: Jim Barker, of Gainesville, Texas.
