Mary Ellen Hood

Mary Ellen Hood went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 07, 2015. She died at the Memorial Care Center, in Frederick, Oklahoma, at the age of 84 years one month and 14 days. She was born on March 23, 1931, in Mellen, Ashland County, Wisconsin, to Sam F. and Irma Mae (Walker) Case. She grew up in and attended Mellen Schools as well as Ashland Indian College. She came to Frederick, Oklahoma, and worked for 15 years as secretary for the Civil Defense. She also worked as an industrial seamstress for many different factories. Her hobbies included sewing and baking cakes. She loved to bake cakes and give them away all over town to various individuals, groups and organizations. She was a volunteer for The Grand Hotel Frederick and the Senior Citizen's Center. She would often be seen around the hotel cleaning windows and taking care of plants. She was preceded in death by her 9 mos. old son: John Henry Hood; a granddaughter: Tonya Scheller; two brothers: Roger and Nelson Case; and a sister Lois Case. She is survived by five children: Chuck, Jeanne, Mary Ann, Marlene and Jackie Kay; four brothers: George, Claude, Sam, and Keith Case; one sister: Eunice Gouge; two grandchildren: Donna and Paul; and a great grandchild: Jerrad.
