Blas Garcia went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 18, 2014. He died at his home in Frederick, Oklahoma, at the age of 59 years, 10 months and 23 days. He was born January 25, 1955, in Frederick, Oklahoma, to Dionicio Garcia, Sr. and Maryanne V. Garcia. He grew up in and attended Frederick schools. As a young man he traveled east and did migrate work in Florida and Georgia among other places. He was united in marriage to Sandra (Howell) Perez. He later married Maria "Betty" Manriquez. He worked on farms and oil rigs and then for Schlegel Mfg. for over 14 years, until 1992. From that time he has worked for tire repair shops and service stations as an auto service technician. He worked on cars and loved to build things with his hands. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and trips to the river. He loved to cook, especially barbeque. He loved to tell jokes and would help anybody and everybody. He was a father figure to many different people both in and outside of his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: Tony Ramirez, Felipe Garcia and Pete Garcia. Survivors include three daughters: Melissa Martinez and husband Hector, of Conyers, Georgia, Vicky Sanchez and husband Lupe, of Clayton, Georgia, and Julie Garcia, of Tipton, Oklahoma; two sons: Nick Garcia and wife Samantha, of Tifton, Georgia, and Steven Garcia, of Tipton, Oklahoma; four brothers: Dionicio "Chito" Garcia, Jr., of Lubbock, Texas, Frank Garcia and wife Hortencia, of Dallas, Texas, Joe Garcia and wife Angie, of Frederick, Oklahoma, and Billy Wayne Garcia, of Lawton, Oklahoma; five sisters: Janie Leyja, of Frederick, Oklahoma, Kathy Garza and husband Joe, of Frederick, Oklahoma, Rosie Arreguin and husband Juan, of Frederick, Oklahoma, Helen Avila, of Dallas, Texas, and Pauline Mendoza, of Frederick, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren: Gustavo, Erika, Christian, Elizabeth, Angelica, Blas, Schyler, Isabella, Nicholas and Giselle; one great grandchild: Francisco; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.
