Teresa Stevens went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 5, 2014. She passed away in Frederick, Oklahoma, at the age of 92 years, eight months and 27 days. She was born February 8, 1922, in Tipton, Oklahoma, to Dockter George and Liza Ann (Butler) Tompkins. She grew up in and attended Tipton schools and graduated Salutatorian of the Class of 1939. She was united in marriage to Cliff Stevens on August 14, 1941, in Washington, DC. He preceded her in death on December 5, 1986. Teresa worked for the Department of Navy in Washington, D.C. She and Cliff were standing on the steps of the Capitol when they announced the bombing of Pearl Harbor. When Teresa and Cliff moved back to Tillman County they opened a hamburger joint in Tipton. Later they moved to Frederick and started Stevens Electric and raised cattle. She loved flowers and enjoyed nurturing them. She also loved to fish. Teresa would say her greatest achievements were her kids and grandkids, but she will always be known far and wide as the "flower lady" who graciously shared her flowers with everyone. She attended all of her grandchildren's activities. She was a member of the 13th & Josephine Church of Christ, in Frederick. Teresa considered life a gift and a joy. She truly loved every minute. Her family was blessed to have known her and loved her. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother: Lefty Tompkins; one sister: Mayme Pierce; and one daughter: Patsy Ann Stevens. Survivors include a son: Kyle Stevens and wife Kevin, of Frederick, Oklahoma; two daughters: Mary Beth Hollandsworth and husband Merle, of Frederick, Oklahoma, and Nancy Taylor and husband Don, of Marlow, Oklahoma; five grandchildren: Barry Hollandsworth and wife Susan, Amy Fikes and husband Cory, Alison Ellis and husband Steven, Kaci Scott and husband John, and Kati Williams and husband Jarrod; 12 great grandchildren: Cliff Hollandsworth, Kalyn Fikes, Bradyn Fikes, Kendyll Ellis, Quinton Ellis, Hinson Scott, Jaxson Scott, Seven Scott, Kasen Scott, Peyton Scott, Jenson Williams and Erica Gibson and husband Jerry; and one great-great grandson: Foster Gibson.
