Billy Joe "Bill" Kilgore went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 11, 2014. He died at his home in Frederick, Oklahoma, at the age of 85 years, five months and 14 days. He was born on July 28, 1928, in Hollister, Oklahoma, to L.L. and Ida (Blair) Kilgore. He grew up and attended Frederick Schools and graduated with the class of 1947. Bill was united in marriage to Beula Gray on January 28, 1948, in Frederick, Oklahoma. He entered the United States Army in 1948, and served honorably until he was discharged in 1951. After his military service, Bill worked as a policeman for Frederick and Burkburnett, as well as deputy sheriff in Wichita County, Wichita Falls, and then continued law enforcement in Amarillo, Texas. Later, Bill traveled throughout Texas and worked as a cook for Burger Chef. He returned to Frederick in 1970, he and his wife operated the hotel café in the Blue Room at the Grand Hotel Frederick. In 1979, he began work for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections as a cook/chef and worked in various correctional facilities until his retirement in 1991. He attended Bible Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters: Maxine Watson, Janette Crowell, and Mary Helen Hobbs. Survivors include his companion: Virginia Martinez, of Frederick, Oklahoma; two daughters: Dianna "Dink" Campbell of Jacksonville, Florida, and Vickey Widner of Somverille, Alabama; eight grandchildren: Joey Rickwarts, Shannon Rickwarts, Carl Rickwarts, Nannette Deloach, Nickey Deloach, Cody Joe Kilgore, Clay Bell, and Carrisa Bell; 16 great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
