Terry Avery

Elton "Terry" Avery went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 2, 2014. He died in Cleburne, Texas, at the age of 67 years, nine months and 18 days. He was born March 14, 1946, in California to Elton Thomas and Joanna (Wood) Avery. He grew up in and attended Frederick schools and graduated from Frederick High School. He was united in marriage to Dora Garcia. He worked as a machinist in the Aerospace Industry for Lockheed Martin for 30 years, retiring in 2008. He loved selling at flea markets. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, and a sister: Nina Wilkerson. Survivors include six children: Kim McKittrick and husband Chris, of Rhome, Texas, Kristy Benton and husband Rick, of Crowley, Texas, Terry Avery of Crowley, Texas, Terri Brisco and husband Wayne, of Elk City, Oklahoma, Elton Avery III, of Cleburne, Texas, and Eli Avery, of Cleburne, Texas; his mother: Joanna Avery, of Frederick, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
