William Joseph Flippin

William Joseph Flippin went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 15, 2013. He died at the Lawton/Fort Sill Veterans Center, Lawton, Oklahoma, at the age of 84 years, 11 months and five days. Burial with U.S. Navy military honors was in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery, Frederick, Oklahoma. He was born on September 10, 1928, to Joe and Christine (Holcomb) Flippin, in Frederick, Oklahoma. He attended school at Lake Worth, Texas. He served in the U.S. Navy from January 17, 1946 until January 10, 1949 and was honorably discharged. He was a truck driver and a minister. His hobbies included camping, fishing and riding horses. He loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Druscilla Flippin and Viola May Flippin; one son: Jerry Flippin; and two grandsons: Joshua Flippin and Ray Cosby. He is survived by: his wife: Sarah Kathleen Flippin; three sons: Harry Flippin, Howard Flippin, and Daniel Flippin; four daughters: Christa Flippin, Sherrill Figuera, Joyce McKinney, and Nancy Logan; 15 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.
