Manuel Rocha went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 15, 2013. He died in Lawton, Oklahoma, at the age of 91 years and 17 days. He was born July 18, 1922, in Pueblo, Colorado, to Leopoldo and Guadalupe (Saldana) Rocha. He moved to Texas at an early age and lived in San Antonio during his teenage years and later moved to Wichita Falls. He was united in marriage to Flora Gonzales on October 9, 1949, in Walters, Oklahoma. He worked as a farmer and also as a landscaper. He enjoyed gardening and always had a huge garden in his back yard. His passion was his family and he loved to play with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was proud of the fact that he lived in Frederick for 65 years at the same residence. He attended Primera Iglesia Bautista (Spanish Mission Church), in Frederick. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister: Mercedes Cadena; and his wife: Flora Rocha, on January 5, 2006. Survivors include two daughters: Rachel Bowman and husband Mickey, of Lawton, Oklahoma, and Leah Briones and husband Abel, of Wichita Falls, Texas; five grandchildren and spouses: Michael Garza and wife Kari, Lawton, Oklahoma, Rafael Garza and wife Paula, of Norman, Oklahoma, Gabriel Briones and wife Kim, of Wichita Falls, Texas, Carlos Garza, Norman, Oklahoma, and Elizabeth Briones Anderson and husband Justin, of Denton, Texas; eight great grandchildren: Anissa and Braxton Briones, Gabriella and Anthony Garza, Gavyn, Grier, Gage and Gracen Garza.
