Floyd Ray Earls went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 6, 2013. He died at his home in Frederick, Oklahoma, at the age of 70 years, six months and 28 days. He was born October 8, 1942, at Dover, Oklahoma, to Luther and Ruth Lorene (Matthew) Bates. He attended schools at Odessa, Texas, before moving to Hollister, Oklahoma. He entered the United States Army on December 4, 1962, at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He served in the 794th Maintenance Company and was honorably discharged on December 17, 1964, at Fort Ord, California. He worked most of his life as a self-employed carpenter and roofer. He was a member of the Atoka Christian Church and attended Bible Baptist Church, of Frederick. He is survived by five sons: Robert "Scooby" Beadle, of Frederick, Oklahoma, Jeremy Earls, of California, Jeffery Earls, of California, J. R. Earls, of Texas, and J. B. Earls, of California; a daughter: Tammy Caldwell, of Texas; his mother: Lorene Bates, of Lawton, Oklahoma; two brothers: William "Bill" Earls and wife Jan, of Duncan, Oklahoma, and Jerry Riley and wife Carolyn, of Medicine Park, Oklahoma; two sisters: Janie B. Knoles, Lawton, Oklahoma, and Cathy Smith and husband Robert, of Cypress, California; several grandchildren and numerous aunts and uncles.
