Franklin Clarence Jared, Jr. went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 18, 2013. He passed away at Lawton, Oklahoma, at the age of 77 years, 5 months, and 7 days. He was born on October 11, 1935, to Franklin Clarence, Sr. and Clara Lee (Huff) Jared, in Manitou, Oklahoma. He grew up near Frederick and after the first grade, his family moved to California where he attended second through eighth grade. He returned to Frederick in the eighth grade and graduated from Frederick High School with the Class of 1955. He attended Cameron University and then Lab Tech School in St. Louis, Missouri. He married June Alice Noel on July 31, 1956. They lived in St. Louis, Missouri, Anadarko, Oklahoma, Duncan, Oklahoma, and San Pedro, California, before returning to Frederick in 1958. In 1960, he was employed as a lab and x-ray technician for Memorial Hospital in Frederick. After leaving the Frederick Hospital, he worked as a truck driver for a year. Then in 1975 he began work at the water treatment plant for the City of Frederick and served in the capacity of Water Superintendent, retiring in January 2013. He enjoyed metal detection and was awarded the World Champion Treasure Hunter in 1968. He was a member of the Rotary Club, Frederick Masonic Lodge #249, and was 32nd Degree Mason Scottish Rite (Guthrie). He was also a member of the First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife: June Jared, on November 3, 2010. He is survived by two daughters and their spouses: Stasia and Gary Cole, of Frederick, Oklahoma, and Salomi and Jeff Ochsner, of Chattanooga, Oklahoma; five grandchildren: Jared Cole, Katheryn Kenemer, and Kyrie Cole, all of Frederick, Colton and Jake Ochsner, of Chattanooga, OK and three great grandchildren: Vance Kenemer, Taytum Cole, and William Presley Cole, all of Frederick.
