Daniel Armando Meza went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 12, 2013. He passed away at the age of 79 years, 10 months, and 23 days. He was born on April 17, 1933, to Sabas and Eloisa (Loredo) Meza, in San Ignacio, Texas. He grew up in Corpus Christi, TX and joined the Army October 10, 1950. He served during the Korean War and was honorably discharged on September 24, 1953. He was awarded the Army Occupation Medal (Germany). He was married to Angelita Puente in Corpus Christi, TX, in 1953. He lived in Corpus Christi, San Antonio, George West, and Zapata, TX. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He was self employed as a bar owner. He was a Catholic. He received his GED at the age of 42. He farmed and retired in 1987. He was preceded in death by his parents; his former wife: Angelita; and one sister: Chanita Flores. He is survived by three sons: Daniel Meza, Jr. and wife Shelby, of Fort Worth, TX, Joe Meza Gutierrez and wife Donna, of Wichita Falls, TX, and Jesse Meza and wife Kayla, of Frederick, OK; one daughter: Betty (Meza) Manriquez and husband Roy, of Tipton, OK; three sisters: Dora Saenz, of Three Rivers, TX, Gloria (Meza) Olgin, of Houston, TX, and Maria Cardona, of Corpus Christi, TX; 16 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.
