Velma "Joyce" Tucker went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 4, 2013. She died at Lawton, Oklahoma, at the age of 86 years, five months and 18 days. She was born on July16, 1926, in Davidson, Oklahoma, to Willie Edgar and Beulah Bessie (Miller) Hurford. She grew up and attended schools in Davidson, Oklahoma, graduating with the Class 1944. She married Bob Tucker, Jr. on November 1, 1946, at Vernon, Texas. She worked for Betsy Bra and Kellwood's. Later, she worked at the Vernon State Hospital where she retired as a Spec. 1, after 12 years of service. She enjoyed gardening and sewing. She had a love for music, being the pianist for many years at the Davidson Methodist Church, which her husband helped build and all her children were married in. She and her friends would gather to play music and she would play the bass guitar, bass fiddle and piano. She was active in the Davidson Senior Citizen's and had served as President. She was in Eastern Star and served as Past Worthy Matron. She was member of the First United Methodist Church, of Frederick, after the church at Davidson disbanded. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on January 20, 2002; two sisters: Mary Green and Bertha Barnett; and a grandson: Anthony Walker. She is survived by three daughters: Karen Dickerson and husband, Larry of Burkburnett, Texas; Kathy Rozzell and husband, Gary of Mineral Wells,Texas; Karel Walker and husband, Roy of Davidson, Oklahoma; one sister: Peggy Bristo of Vernon, Texas; three grandchildren: JoDavid Walker, Gary Len Rozzell and Karen Fox; six great grandchildren: Callef Walker, Tristyn, Garyn, Casyn "C.J.", Kamdyn, and Mykila Rozzell.
