Virginia M. Cole went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 23, 2012. She passed away at Frederick, Oklahoma, at the age of 94 years, and 2 months. She was born on June 23, 1918, to Claude Deupree and Etta Lee (Phillips) Stimpson, in Chattanooga, Oklahoma. She attended Chattanooga Schools and graduated from Chattanooga High School. She attended Conners Junior College, Oklahoma A & M University, and received her B.S. degree from Central State University. She took advanced studies at the University of Oklahoma. She taught at Bridge Creek, Pocasset, Marlow and Frederick Schools. She also worked for 12 years at the Extension Service in Tillman County. She taught a total of 28 years and retired in 1980 from Frederick Public Schools. She was active in various organizations, including Beta Delphian in Oklahoma City, Beta Sigma Phi, American Association of University Women, O.E.A.,, Oklahoma Vocational Education Association, and Retired Teachers Association. Virginia was also a member of the Frederick First United Methodist Church, serving as secretary of the Church Board, member of the Board of Trustees, and member of the Homer Tilley Sunday School Class. Additionally, Virginia served as president of Oklahoma County Osteopathic Women, as well as president of Tillman County Education Association. She was also a member of CE Chapter of P.E.O. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and three sisters. She is survived by one son: Steve Berrey and wife Linda, of Midlothian, TX; two daughters: Cheryl Wackenhuth and husband Mark, of Tulsa, OK, and Terri Huddleston and Tom Fuller, of Tulsa, OK; four grandchildren: Lauren Berrey, Taylor Huddleston, Jordan Wackenhuth, and Cole Wackenhuth; and numerous nieces and nephews.
