Carrie Lynn Southerland went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 2, 2012. She passed away at her home in Tipton at the age of 50 years, three months, and 19 days. She was born on December 14, 1961, to John and Ruby (Martin) Carter, in Clinton, Oklahoma. She grew up in Frederick, Oklahoma and attended Frederick Schools. She worked many years for Frybrant. She also worked for Hop and Sack and Legg Grocery, both in Tipton. She married Bobby Ray Southerland at Vernon, Texas, in 1977. She loved to work puzzle books and play Farkle with her nieces and nephews. She loved, adored and treasured her family, especially her grandkids. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tipton. She was preceded in death by her parents; and twin infant daughters: Tara and Sharra in 1982. She is survived by one son: Bobby Keith Southerland, of Tipton; one daughter: Ashley Southerland, of Tipton; one brother: William Carter, of Durant; five sisters: Wanda Hernandez, of Snyder, Patsy Sebree and husband Lee, of Frederick, Eunice Muniz and husband Junior, of Snyder, Linda Muniz and husband Alex, of Snyder, and Susie Trantham, of Durant; several brothers and sisters-in-law: Herman Southerland, of Tipton, Virginia Flores, of Tipton, Barbara Trichell, of Tipton, Calvin Southerland, of Tipton, Peggy Stevens, of Midland, TX, Rocky Southerland, of Fox, Rita Smith, of Tipton, Kay Meza, of Tipton, Patty Flores, of Tipton, Ann Simpson, of Tipton, Debra Southerland, of Tipton, and Jeff Southerland, of Tipton; her mother-in-law: Parthena Southerland; two grandchildren: Braydon and Brennon Southerland, and a special friend: Missy Leyja, of Tipton.
