Carol Glen Ridings went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 13, 2012. He passed away at Lawton, Oklahoma, at the age of 81 years, 7 months, and 25 days. He was born June 19, 1930, at Davidson, Oklahoma, to Amos and Lillian (Hair) Ridings. He grew up in Davidson and attended Davidson schools and graduated with the class of 1948. He served honorably in the United States Army and fought in the Korean Conflict. He received a bachelor's of science degree in Agriculture from Oklahoma A&M, where he also was on the wrestling team. He was united in marriage on August 18, 1950, to Frances Roberts at the First Baptist Church of Frederick. He worked as a salesman for the Houston Blue Print & Stationery Company of Houston, Texas, for over 30 years. In 2001, he and his wife returned to Tillman County to live in Frederick. Carol was a tremendous athlete, an avid tennis player and he enjoyed golfing. He was a member of the Frederick Golf and Country Club and the First United Methodist Church of Frederick. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sons: Jeff Ridings on March 7, 1995, and Craig Ridings on April 1, 2008. Survivors include his wife: Frances Ridings, of the home in Frederick, Oklahoma; a son Russ Ridings, of Flower Mound, Texas; one daughter-in-law: Charlene Ridings, of Lakewood, Colorado; two grandchildren: Charlton and Christian Ridings; one great grandchild: Kyla Dean Ridings; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
