Margaret Yoakum Mallonee

October 23, 1921 — February 10, 2012

Margaret Yoakum Mallonee went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 10, 2012. She passed away in Wichita Falls, Texas, at the age of 90 years, three months, and 18 days. Margaret was born on October 23, 1921, to Floyd and Anna (Schroeder) Duckworth, in Frederick, Oklahoma. She attended schools in Frederick and graduated from Frederick High School in 1942. She married Frank Yoakum November 13, 1943, in Oklahoma City. He preceded her in death on July 26, 1990. She graduated from the Odessa School of Nursing in 1968. She retired from a lengthy nursing career in Frederick. Margaret married Paul Mallonee December 7, 1993 and he preceded her in death in 1999. She lived a very active life participating in numerous social and civic organizations including: American Legion Auxiliary, V.F.W. Auxiliary, Black Katz, Tillman County Home Demonstration Club, Purple Heart Auxiliary, and the Red Hats Club. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. After her retirement, she enjoyed taking bus tours and going out for social occasions. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands: Frank Yoakum, and Paul Mallonee; and one brother: J. D. Duckworth. She is survived by: one sister: Norma Jean Jones and her husband Larry, of Wichita Falls, TX; one daughter: Janice Wells and her husband Charles, of Fruitland Park, FL; three grandsons: Tod Wells, of Lake Placid, FL, David Wells, TX, and John T. Wells and his wife Natalie, of Sebring, FL; five great grandchildren: Amy Wells, Cortney Wells, Adrienne Wells, Jillianne Wells, and Ethan Wells; one sister-in-law: Mable Duckworth, of Kelseyville, CA; and cousins: Mary Ellen Daniel and husband Dan, of Altus, Mary Lee Splawn and husband Robert, Canyon, TX, Adella Roberts, of Springdale, AR, Don Schroeder and wife Emerita, of Ardmore, Harvey Schroeder and wife Joyce, and Barbara Tucker and husband Bill, both of Frederick.
