Magalene Miller went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 26, 2011. She died in Oakland, California, at the age of 89 years, one month and 20 days. She was born on November 6, 1922, to Warsaw and Florence (Collins) Smith, in Boswell, Oklahoma. She attended Timber Hill School until the eighth grade. She was united in marriage to Chalmas Sydney Miller on February 12, 1940, at Boswell, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on February 14, 1998. She lived in Boswell until 1943, and then moved to Headrick, Oklahoma, and in 1946, she moved to Frederick, where she spent most of her life. In December 2001, she moved to Tennessee Colony, Texas, to live with her son, and later moved to Oakland, California, to live with her daughter. She was a housewife and mother. She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Chalmas; one son: Walter Douglas Miller; two daughters: Betty Earl Miller and Deloris Maxine Chandler; four brothers: Jessie Smith, Dave Smith, Walter Douglas Smith, and Henry Smith; and one sister: Mary Lee Norris. She is survived by two sons: Curtis Miller and wife Sarah, of Tennessee Colony, Texas, and Bobby Miller, of Kansas City, Missouri; two daughters: Versie Perry, and Bessie Miller, both of Oakland, California; two brothers: Wade Smith and wife Lola, of Frederick, Oklahoma, and James Smith, of Frederick, Oklahoma; five sisters: Addie Mae Gordon, of Texas, Jearlene Williams and husband Odell, of Kansas City, Missouri, Myrtle Appling and husband Marion, of Frederick, Oklahoma, Franceil Lang, of Alexandria, Virginia, and Shirley Jean Stevenson and husband Jimmy, of Lawton, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and 13 great great grandchildren.
