Raymond Dale Hickerson went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 4, 2011. He died at his home in Frederick, Oklahoma, at the age of 86 years and three months. He was born on June 4, 1925, to Robert Samuel and Zelda Claire (McLaren) Hickerson, east of Davidson, Oklahoma. He attended Victory Consolidated #11 School. He married Evelyn L. Fleming on July 11, 1944, at Davidson, Oklahoma. He served in the United States Army during World War II and he was awarded the APT Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and Victory Ribbon. He was discharged from the Army at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas, March 18, 1946. He worked for and retired from GTE. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, of Frederick, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Evelyn on September 24, 2003; two grandsons; two brothers: Billy and Bobby; one sister: Louise Tyler; and one daughter-in-law: Pam. He is survived by two sons: Louis Ray Hickerson and Kathy, of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Larry Hickerson and Sheryl, of Archer City, Texas; one daughter: Nancy Dalrymple and Kerry, of Swayzee, Indiana; one brother-in-law: Zeke Tyler, of Frederick, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
