Hubert Charles Rector

He was born on January 25, 1923, to Charles Reece and Alma Inez (Powell) Rector, near Grandfield, Oklahoma. They moved to Frederick, Oklahoma where he attended Frederick Public Schools. He married Doris Maurine Raper on October 17, 1942, in Frederick, Oklahoma. He entered the United States Army January 28, 1943 and trained at Camp Swift, Texas, and served honorably in World War II. He was in the 3rd platoon B Company, 146 Engineer Combat Battalion. He was awarded the EAME Ribbon with four Battle Stars, Good Conduct Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, World War II Victory Ribbon and Distinguished Unit Badge. He was discharged November 14, 1945. He worked for Keeton Wholesale Upholstery for 32 years. He then worked for Truman's Fabric and Foam for five years and retired in 1988. He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Maurine on February 20, 1994; three brothers: Clifford Rector during World War II, Johnny Rector, and Jimmy Don Rector; and two sisters: Odessa Hasley and Coleen Coleman, and a great-grandson Brett Harris. He is survived by a son: Hubert Ray Rector and wife Rose, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; a daughter: Linda Kay Rector Newville and husband Dean, of Manitou, Oklahoma; a brother: Charles "Pete" Rector and wife Charlene, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; four sisters: Marie Todd, of Vernon, Texas, Bobbie Jean Lawson, of Tipton, Oklahoma, LaQuita Brown and husband Leon, of Midwest City, Oklahoma, and Karen Miley and husband Howard, of Kingston, Oklahoma; brother-in-law: Elmer Coleman, of Midwest City, Oklahoma; seven granddaughters: Lisa Combs and husband Stephen, of Frederick Oklahoma, Michelle Newville, of Manitou, Oklahoma, Teresa Hasley and husband Jerry, of Alexandria, Louisiana, Shari Rector and fiancé Clint Davis, of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, Tambera Peden and husband Mitch, of Amarillo Texas, Amber Hall and husband Danny, of Washington Oklahoma, and Krystal Crump and husband Cody, of Norman Oklahoma; twenty great grandchildren: Kylie McFall, Kristian Combs, Josh Duncan and wife Charity, Kris Palmer and wife Rosemary, Jordan Powers, Lindsay Goudy, Zak Goudy, Bryttni Owen and husband Josh, Asa Miller; Lauren Courtney, Colton Hall, Taylre Turoczi, Tyler Crump, Triniti Crump, Tristan Crump, Talaci Crump, Shandi King and husband Robby, Jeffery Hasley and wife Jimiesue, Dustin Hasley and Ashley Hasley; eight great great grandchildren: Kristopher, Emma, Khaelab, Kashton, Blakeleigh, Gage, Clark and Kaylee; several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.
