Joseph C. "Joe" Sutton passed away Friday, August 20, 2010. He died at Lawton, Oklahoma, at the age of 62 years, six months and 24 days. He was born January 26, 1948, in Bluffton, Indiana, to Cecil Alonzo and Boniya Ajne Sutton. He grew up in Indiana. He entered the United States Army on February 13, 1968. He was in the 82nd Airborne Division and served during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant on March 12, 1972. Among the awards and commendations he received were: National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm. He worked as a farmer in Indiana. He came to Oklahoma in the early 1990's. He was united in marriage to Linda Rae Darling. While in Frederick, he worked at Schlegal/BTR, and also in the construction and carpentry industry. Most recently, he had worked at the Atlas-Tuck Concrete Plant, in Frederick. Joe loved to fish, cook, play golf and dominoes. He was a huge NASCAR fan. He was preceded in death by: his parents; and his wife Linda, on April 18, 2010. Survivors include four sons: Joe Sutton, Indiana, Todd Sutton, Indiana, Richard Withers, Graham, Texas, and Mark Withers, of Muncie, Indiana; two daughters: Lisa Bouse, of Indiana, and Kim McKay, of Frederick, Oklahoma; two sisters: Joann Gearheart and Diane Zolman, both of Indiana; several grandchildren to include Kelsey Carrico, of Frederick, Oklahoma; and one great grandchild on the way.
