Funeral service for Jane Estaline Smith, age 102, formerly of Frederick, Oklahoma, was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 2, 2010, at the Orr Gray Gish Chapel, Frederick, Oklahoma, with Rev. Ralph Peery, pastor of Lighthouse Cathedral, officiating. Mrs. Smith died Tuesday, December 29, 2009, in a Electra, Texas, nursing care center. Burial was in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery, under the direction of Orr Gray Gish Funeral Home, Frederick, Oklahoma. She was born November 14, 1907, in Manitou, Tillman County, Oklahoma, to John and Emmaline (Lewis) Costen. She married Luther E. Smith on September 29, 1930, in Waurika, Jefferson County, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on July 25, 1987. She lived in Walters, Oklahoma, and then moved to Frederick in 1940, where she lived until 2005, when she moved to Electra, Texas, to be near family. She was a homemaker and had also worked as a nurse's assistant. She loved flowers and gardening. She was an Assembly of God. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a son Johnny Smith, on April 19, 1983; a daughter Joyce Smith, on February 15, 1992; four brothers: Clyde Costen, Tom Costen, Polk Costen and Houston Costen; four sisters: Geraldine McCoy, Willie Mitchell, Ena Harris and Nellie Blankenship; She is survived by three sons; Kenneth Smith, and his wife Carolyn, of Gassville, Arkansas, Wayne Smith, and his wife Joan, of Guthrie, Oklahoma, Harold Smith, and his wife Cindi, of Fort Worth, Texas; one daughter: Othelia "Pinky" Rader, and husband Bill, of Crowell, Texas; one sister: Meral Thomas, of Walters, Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and five great, great grandchildren.
