Funeral service for Ricky Don Garza, age 57, of Elkhart, Kansas, formerly of Frederick, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 14, 2009, at the Orr Gray Gish Chapel with Rev. Enos Flores, pastor of Primera Iglesia Bautista, officiating. Mr. Garza died Wednesday, November 11, 2009, at Elkhart, Kansas. Burial will be in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery, Frederick, Oklahoma, under the direction of Orr Gray Gish Funeral Home. He was born July 26, 1952, in Frederick, Oklahoma, to Manuel and Delfina (Marquez) Garza. He grew up and attended Frederick schools. He worked at Southside Grocery and Greenfield Grocery, both in Frederick. He moved to Perryton, Texas, then lived in the Oklahoma panhandle before moving to Elkhart, Kansas. Most of his working life, he worked in retail in the grocery and convenient store industries. He last worked at Gem Dandy Convenient Store. He attended Primera Iglesia Bautista. He was preceded in death by his father; two brothers: Gregory Garza and Tony Garza; a sister: Gloria Garza, and one nephew: Michael Garza. Survivors include two sons: Gary Garza and wife Mary, of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Ricky Garza, Wichita Falls, Texas; his mother: Delfina Garza, of Frederick, Oklahoma; two brothers: Sal Garza and wife Melba, of Bryan, Texas and Robert Garza and wife Mary, of Frederick, Oklahoma; two sisters: Wallie Flores and husband Johnny, of Frederick, Oklahoma, and Eva Cervantez and husband Gabriel, of Grand Prairie, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
