She was born on November 19, 1942, in Matador, Texas, to Jessie O. and Rubeye M. (Bell) Sims. She attended Victory School then completed her high school education at Grandfield, Oklahoma, graduating in 1961. She was united in marriage to Donald Ray Kelly on October 13, 1962, in Frederick, Oklahoma with Rev. Vernon Floyd officiating the ceremony. Sally began working in the school lunch room for the Frederick schools, and simultaneously started keeping books for the family business Kelly Repair Shop. She worked for the National Bank of Frederick and during that time was voted "the friendliest person in Frederick." She began working as auction cashier for Terry Brink Auction Company, and later was bookkeeper as well for 20 years. She also began working for Tommy Challacombe, Stockman's Mix Meal for some 20 years also. Sally was instrumental in assisting the local dairies in Frederick with their bookkeeping systems. She worked very closely with Terry Hoffman, of LOMAH (Land of Milk & Honey) Dairy and Vanderlaan Dairies. Sally was a member of the First Baptist Church, Frederick. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: J.R. Sims and Kenneth Sims; two sisters: Marie McClary and Wanda Clark. She is survived by her husband, Donald Ray Kelly, of the home south of Frederick, OK; one son: Robert Dean Kelly and wife Pamela Lee Kelly, of Frederick, OK; one daughter: Kathryn Deneen (Kelly) DeWeese and husband Calvin Leon DeWeese, of Iowa Park, TX; four brothers: Leon Sims and wife Arlis, Richard Sims and wife Edith, Robert (Bobby) Sims, and Charles Sims and wife Sharrion; eight grandchildren: Whitney (DeWeese) Laster, Megan Kelly, Evan Kelly and wife Jaclyn, Madison DeWeese, Christina Kelly, Corde DeWeese, Marlee DeWeese and Cable DeWeese; three great grandchildren: Jaslyn Huneycutt, Alyssa Kelly, and Autumn Laster as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
