Funeral service for Bobby Lee Blain, age 74, of Rush Springs, Oklahoma, former Davidson resident, was held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 3, 2008, at the Gray Gish Funeral Home Chapel with Randy Ramsey, nephew from Oklahoma City, officiating. Mr. Blain died Friday, January 2, 2008, at a Norman, Oklahoma, hospital. Burial was in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gray Gish Funeral Home, Frederick, Oklahoma. He was born March 25, 1934, in Rogers, Arkansas, to W. F. and Ruth (Bess) Blain. He moved at an early age with his family to Tillman County and settled in Davidson, Oklahoma, and attended Davidson schools. He was united in marriage to Janelle Carothers on October 28, 1953, at Hugo, Oklahoma. In 1955, he entered the United States Army and served honorably as a medic in Germany until his discharge in 1957. After his military service, he and his wife lived in Wichita Falls, Texas, and he worked on wheat harvest. He then worked several years in construction. He moved from Texas to California, where he lived for over 20 years. In 1980, he returned to Rush Springs, Oklahoma, and worked on peanut farms, then as a truck driver for Bridget Construction in Chickasha, and most recently, he worked for past Lt. Governor Spencer Bernard at Rush Creek ranch as a farmhand. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers: Doug and Dick Blain. Survivors include his wife: Janelle, of the home in Rush Springs, Oklahoma; a brother: Joe Blain and wife Mary, of Rush Springs, Oklahoma; two sisters: Earlene Holder, of Blanchard, Oklahoma, and June Ramsey and husband George, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.
