Don Hawkins Funeral service for Donald Gene Hawkins, age 57, of Lawton, Oklahoma, will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2008, at the Burkhardt Chapel in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Hawkins passed away at his home on September 7, 2008, in Lawton, Oklahoma. Burial will be in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gray Gish Funeral Home in Frederick, Oklahoma. Donald Gene Hawkins was born on June 20, 1951, in Vallejo, California, to Kenneth Wayne and Shirley Jo (Bonham) Hawkins. His father was stationed in the U. S. Navy, where he started school in Morocco, Africa, and then attended schools in Illinois, Maryland, California and Oklahoma, where he graduated from Geronimo High School in 1969. He served honorably in the United States Navy, where he was in the Color guard. He worked in Civil Service for over 30 years, where up until his death he worked as a shipping and receiving clerk at Reynolds Army Hospital at Ft Sill, Oklahoma. He was an avid collector. At an early age he started collecting comic books. He also enjoyed collecting music memorabilia, movies and movie memorabilia, cd's, Coke and Pepsi memorabilia. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Wayne Hawkins, 2000. He is survived by his mother Shirley Hawkins, of Frederick, Oklahoma; three brothers: Ed Douglas and wife Pauline of Sacramento, California; Kenneth Ray Hawkins, of Frederick, Oklahoma, and Steve Hawkins and wife Bonnie, of Richmond, Virginia; two sisters: Cindy Derr and husband Gary, of Mangum, Oklahoma, and Sharita Lockard and husband James, of Sunset, Louisiana; nieces and nephews: Gregory Douglas, Michelle Vaughan and husband Stacey, Heather Brown and husband Larry, Virginia Derr, Sarah Domec and husband Brennan, Christina Lockard, Greg Lockard, baby identical twin girls: Faith and Grace Hawkins; neighbor and faithful friends: Davis Gewitch and Family.
