Mary Mitchell Funeral service for Mary Naomi (Magill) Mitchell, age 94, of Snyder, Oklahoma, was held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at the United Methodist Church in Manitou, Oklahoma, with Rev. R.T. Perry, Methodist Minister, officiating. The family received friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at Gray Gish Funeral Home, in Frederick, Oklahoma. Mrs. Mitchell went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 14, 2008, in Whitehouse, Texas, near Tyler, Texas. Burial was in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Snyder, Oklahoma, under the direction of Gray Gish Funeral Home, Frederick, Oklahoma. She was born October 1, 1913, in Manitou, Oklahoma, to Claud and Sue (Litton) Magill. She graduated from Frederick High School in 1930 and attended and graduated from Oklahoma City Business College. She joined the Methodist Church as a child and served their ministry in Oklahoma City. She was united in marriage to Avis Mitchell on September 25, 1955, in Oklahoma City. He preceded her in death on March 22, 1987. They lived on a farm between Manitou and Snyder and she resumed her service in the Manitou United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Busy Bees Homemakers Club for many years, serving as President at the time of her illness. She was also in the Order of the Eastern Star and Amoranth Organization and served as a Worthy Matron in 1975. Her special smile, gentle spirit and warm hospitality will be greatly missed by family and friends. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by a brother: Joe Litton Magill; sisters: Pearl Magill Smith and Ollie Magill Coffelt; nephew: H. Glen Coffelt. She is survived by nieces: Jo Coffelt Martin, Tyler, Texas, Mary Smith Poole, Lancaster, California, and Bobbie Smith Hanolon, Maryland Heights, Missouri; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law: Marie Mitchell and Glyn and Virginia Mitchell; as well as several great nieces and nephews and adopted grandchildren.
