J.B. Hix Funeral service for J.B. Hix, age 82, of Frederick, Oklahoma, was at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2008, in the Gray Gish Funeral Home, with Rev. John Horton, pastor, First Baptist Church, officiating. Mr. Hix passed away Monday, April 21, 2008, in Frederick, Oklahoma. Burial was in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gray Gish Funeral Home. J. B. was born on February 27, 1926, in Davis, Oklahoma, to John Robert and Susan Dora Ann (Cape) Hix. He attended school in Davis. He served honorably in the United States Navy from October 23, 1943 to January 9, 1946, where he served as Seamon First Class on the USS Aqarius. During his service he was awarded the World War II Victory Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign Medal. He married Logie June Baird on July 18, 1946, in Vernon, Texas. They moved to Frederick, where he worked at the Roosevelt Granite Company as a stone polisher. He was a member of the DAV. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers: Sam, Roy, Floyd and George; and four sisters: Laudie, Claudia, Audie and Ruby. He is survived by his wife, Logie June, of 61 years; a son: William Kenneth Hix and wife Florence, of Moore, Oklahoma; four grandchildren: Kenneth Hix, John Hix, James Hix and Michelle Ellifritt; nine great grandchildren: Maryanne, Michael, Angelica, Christopher, Anthony, Andrew, Timmy, Abigail and Brandon and many nieces and nephews.
