Grace Lee Box Funeral service for Grace Lee Box, age 93, of Frederick, Oklahoma, was held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, May 31, 2008, at the Gray Gish Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Peevyhouse, pastor, Trinity Baptist Church, officiating. The family received friends from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2008, at Gray Gish Funeral Home. Mrs. Box passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2008, in Frederick, Oklahoma. Burial was in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gray Gish Funeral Home. Grace Lee was born on December 25, 1914, in Hollister, Oklahoma, to James Edward and Daisy Cordelia (Grace) Hagy. She attended school in Hollister, Oklahoma. She married Lloyd Box on March 3, 1941, in Frederick, Oklahoma. They lived on her family's farm for 37 years, before moving to Frederick in 1976. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the DAV Auxiliary and the Rose Unit Garden Club. She was member of the Manitou Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school classes and then later moved her membership to Trinity Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and helped her husband with the farming. She was a seamstress for her family and friends and enjoyed canning food and fruit. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Lloyd, on January 26, 1992; five brothers: Emory, James, Merrett, Hubert and Charles Hagy; two sisters: Gladys Hagy and Mary Gay Colier; three nieces: Betty (Hagy) Harris, Eldean Lowery and Francis Kay (Hagy) Beau; and three nephews: Emory Jacob Jr., Travis and Dale Hagy. She is survived by two sons and daughter in laws: Galen and Sharon Box, of Fairview, Oklahoma; and Eldon and Yvonna Box, of Frederick, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren: Brian Box and wife Luanna and children, McKenna and McKain; Allen Box and wife Patricia and children, Alicia and Kaila; Gaylena Sturgill and husband Eric and children, Emily Grace, Jacob and Spencer; Brian Jennings and wife Jennifer and children, Jaycie and Hunter; Jonetta Forbes and husband Casey and children, Chayton, Darcy and Braxton; Nathan Box; Clayton Box and wife Alicia and children, Miguel, Gabriela and one on the way; Lucas Box; and numerous nieces and nephews.
