Doris Ash Memorial service for Doris J. Ash, age 77, of Frederick, Oklahoma, was held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday June 24, 2008, at Gray Gish Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Horton , pastor of the First Baptist Church, Frederick, officiating. Private family graveside was held Tuesday morning, June 24, 2008, at the Frederick Memorial Cemetery, Frederick, Oklahoma, under the direction of Gray Gish Funeral Home. Mrs. Ash died Friday, June 20, 2008, at her home. She was born April 2, 1931, in Dallas, Texas, to Jake and Lilly (Culpepper) Watkins. She graduated from Classen High School in Oklahoma City and attended Oklahoma State University. She was united in marriage to James L. Ash on September 8, 1950, at Oklahoma City. She had retired from Farmers Home Administration. She worked as a Real Estate Broker owning and operating Ash Reality. Doris had a passion for exercising; she loved walking, lifting weights, aerobics, mountain climbing, and rappelling. Just this past April, she went sky diving with her family. Also, she enjoyed her numerous travels with family and friends all over United States and World. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband James on June 13, 2006; a brother: James Watkins; and a niece: Sara Moylan. Survivors include a son: Tom Ash and wife Susan, New Bern, North Carolina; daughter: Karen Caldwell and husband Tony, of Frederick, Oklahoma; brother: Earl Watkins and wife Maria, of Kingwood, Texas; sister-in-law: Jean Watkins, of Durham, North Carolina; three grandchildren: Cacy Caldwell, Stillwater, Oklahoma, Justin Ash and wife Ali, of Fort Myers, Florida, and Caly Caldwell, of Stillwater, Oklahoma; and special nephew and nieces: Jacob Watkins, Lillian Watkins, Nancy Watkins and Mary Kelly.
