Memorial service for Adam De La Cruz, age 56, of Frederick, Oklahoma, will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 21, 2022, at Tesca Baptist Church with Bro. David Kirby, pastor, officiating.
Mr. De La Cruz passed away Friday, December 31, 2021, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus.
Arrangements are under the direction of Orr Gray Gish Funeral Home in Frederick.
He was born June 21, 1965, in Stamford, Texas, to Manuel De La Cruz Sr. and Abundia (Moreno) De La Cruz. He graduated high school at Trent, Texas. He worked as a correctional officer for correction and detention facilities in Haskell, Texas, Vernon, Texas, and also at the Southwestern Oklahoma Juvenile Center in Manitou. He was united in marriage to Maria Theresa Barnett on May 10, 2008, in Vernon, Texas. He also worked in landscaping and lawn maintenance. He had a passion for cooking, especially barbecuing. He loved going to church, taking care of his wife and going fishing (which he didn’t get to do enough). He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother: Manuel “Junior” De La Cruz.
Survivors include his wife: Maria, of the home in Frederick; a son: Willie Adam De La Cruz; of Trent, Texas; two daughters: Jessica De La Cruz (Johnny), of Abilene, Texas, Casandra Dennis (Matt), also of Trent, Texas, and step daughter: Kimberly Swisher, of Indiana; God children: Jackie Hughes, Rachel Briggs, and Thala Fobb; a brothers: Mike De La Cruz (Brenda) and Simon De La Cruz (Estella); sisters: Allie Longoria (Fred) and Veronica Estrada (Roy); eight grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
