Arlene McDowell

Funeral service for Arlene McDowell, age 90, formerly of Frederick, of El Reno, Oklahoma, will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2022, at Orr Gray Gish Chapel with Rev. Barry Clage, pastor of Freewill Baptist Church, El Reno, officiating.

Mrs. McDowell passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at an Edmond, Oklahoma, health care center.

Committal service will follow in the in the Burkhardt Chapel of the Frederick Memorial Cemetery.

She was born July 16, 1931, in Stroud, Oklahoma, to Truett and Alice (Cupp) Caudill. She was united in marriage to Herbert F. McDowell on December 1, 1950, in Lawton, Oklahoma. She lived in Frederick most of her life, where she raised a family. She loved to cook for her family. After the death of her husband, she lived with her youngest sister. In 2007, she moved to El Reno to be near family. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church of Frederick.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Herbert F. McDowell, on February 11, 1988; two brothers: Luke and J.B.; six sisters: Georgia, Izetta, Elsie, twin sister Arene, Dora Mae, and Louise.

She is survived by three daughters: Debbie Hendrix, of Tennessee, Dana Wafer and husband Mark, of El Reno, and Sue Brock and husband Bobby, also of El Reno; nine grandchildren: Shawna Jensen, Jason Gossett, Charity Jimison, Dhani Garza, Christina Marthers, Robert Wafer, Nicholas Wafer, Drew Brock, and Alex Brock; 18 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
