Barbara Delynn Peters

            Funeral service for Barbara Delynn Peters, age 85, of Davidson, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 15, 2023, at the Orr Gray Gish Chapel with Elder Kyle Wells and Elder Bill Canfield officiating.

            Mrs. Peters passed away Monday, December 11, 2023, in Wichita Falls, Texas.

            Burial will be at the Frederick Memorial Cemetery.

            She was born the oldest of 10 children to Wallace and Bertha (Hamm) Gossett, on August 14, 1938, in Davidson, Oklahoma. She attended Davidson schools where she loved and excelled in basketball. She graduated from Davidson High School with the Class of 1957. She was united in marriage to W.A. “Pap” Peters on March 18, 1960. Delynn was baptized into the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was the quintessential homemaker. She was the caregiver to all the family and an exceptional housekeeper. Her home was always immaculate. Her passion was her family, especially her grandkids. Delynn, Grandma (Mamaw), would drop down on the floor with them and play games. She also loved to play basketball with them as well. Delynn enjoyed photography, although she was seldom in pictures because she was taking them. She enjoyed making photo albums of family, friends, and anyone that crossed her path. She was an avid card sender and was generous to everyone with her homemade cookies and cupcakes. Delynn harvested pecans and delighted in giving away tons of them to everyone through the years

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: W.A. "Pap" Peters, on May 25, 2016; two brothers: Michael and Mark; and a grandchild, Everly Rae Peters.

Survivors include a son: Craig Peters and wife Lisa, of Davidson; a daughter: Lisa Hiebert and husband David, of Guthrie; five brothers and two sisters: Larry, Charlie, Danny, Darrell, Linda, Debbie, and Ricky; five grandchildren: Colby (Tarran), Ashley (Logan), Cody, Taylor (Brooke), and Carlye (Caleb); and five great grandchildren: Estie, Bodie, Colter, Birdie, and Chet.
