Barbara June Pierce

Funeral service for Barbara June Pierce, age 84, of Tipton, Oklahoma, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, March, 31, 2025, at the Tipton First Baptist Church with Rev. Les Banks, pastor, officiating.

Mrs. Pierce passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2025, in Gainesville, Texas.

Burial will be in the Tipton Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Orr Gray Gish & Tipton Funeral Homes.

She was born July 31, 1940, in Altus, Oklahoma, to Ernest Paxton and Ollie Marie (Milligan) Kittrell. She grew up and attended Tipton schools, graduating with the Class of 1958. She was united in marriage to Jerry Milligan in 1959, at Altus, Oklahoma. They had two children: a son Michael Ray “Mike”, and a daughter, Vickie Lynn. In 1971, Jerry and Barbara moved to Gainesville, Texas, and later divorced. She was later united in marriage to Clyde Wilburn "Dick" Pierce on August 8, 1974, in Gainesville, Texas. She worked selling jewelry and make-up at TG&Y, Merle Norman and Wal-Mart. She returned to Tipton in 2001, to care for her parents. She loved to cook, and enjoyed shopping. More than anything, she loved to spend time with family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tipton, Oklahoma.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Dick Pierce, on April 15, 1984; son: Michael Ray Milligan, on January 20, 2018; and son-in-law: Michael Price, on September 29, 2024.

She is survived by one daughter: Vickie Price, of Callisburg, Texas; two grandchildren: Aaron Price and wife Kaylyn, great grandchildren Ryder and Brooklyn, of Sanger, Texas, and Chance Milligan and wife Haley, great grandchild Audrie, of Whitesboro, Texas; a sister: Shirley Fox, of Tipton, Oklahoma; a brother: Ernest Kittrell, of Tipton, Oklahoma.
