Funeral service for Charlsa Ann (Crockett) Gray, age 76, of Grandfield, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2024, at the United Methodist Church of Grandfield with Pastor David Rosales officiating.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Gray Funeral Home, Grandfield.
Burial will be in the Grandfield Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Orr Gray Gish Funeral Home, Frederick, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Gray passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2024, in Burkburnett, Texas.
She was born November 21, 1947, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Ted and Bettye (Gossett) Crockett. She lived with her family on her grandparents (I.S. and Rosa McClelland) farm in the Loveland Community. She attended Loveland schools 1st through 5th grades. The family moved to Grandfield in 1958. She attended Grandfield schools 6th through 12th grades and graduated in 1965. She attended Cameron Junior College after high school. Her first job was at Jack Varner Motors in Grandfield while she was still in high school. She was united in marriage to James Don Gray on April 5th 1969. She had a day care in her home for several years. She worked for Judy and Gary Gray at the Gray Funeral Home in Grandfield. She started working at Sheppard Air Force Base in 1976, and retired in 2005. She took college courses through Waylon College while working at SAFB. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women’s group in Grandfield. She enjoyed playing Majong with her women’s group. She loved watching all of her grandchildren play sports and show livestock.
She was preceded in death by her husband: James Don Gray; her parents: Ted and Bettye (Gossett) Crockett; and an infant son: Eric Don Gray.
She is survived by her daughter: Amy and husband Michael Starr, of Florida, and their children: Brooke Bood and son Thatcher and Justin Starr and Zeke Starr, of Florida; two sons: Teddy Don Gray and wife Keri, of Grandfield, and their sons: Hayden and Dalton Gray, of Grandfield; and Aaron James Gray and wife Jana, of Burkburnett, Texas, and their children: Natalee and Nathan; a sister: Jolene Rollins and husband Don, of Grandfield; and devoted roommate: Dee Shinpaugh.
