Earl McCowen

            Funeral service for Earl McCowen, age 64, of Frederick, Oklahoma, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2019, at the Orr Gray Gish Chapel with Reverend Lloyd Logan, pastor of the First Baptist Missionary Church, officiating.

            Mr. McCowen passed away Saturday, December 7, 2019, at the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.

            Burial will be in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Orr Gray Gish Funeral Home.

            He was born June 28, 1955, in Frederick, Oklahoma, to Jessie McCowen Sr. and Thelma (Thompson) McCowen. He grew up and attended Frederick schools, graduating with the Class of 1973. He worked at Kellwood’s Mfg. and then later for Schlegel Automotive Parts Mfg. for many years. Earl loved vintage airplanes and enjoyed models of vintage aircraft as well. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys football fan and he had a fondness for watching old westerns on television. He will be greatly missed by his family, his fellow residents and the staff members of English Village Manor.

            He was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters: Thelma Louise Wilson; Dorothy Webb and Wanda McCowen.

            Survivors include three sisters: Carroll Ann Berman, of Southfield, Michigan, Linda Long, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, and Patricia Marshall, of Pasadena, California; a brother: Roy McCowen, of Woodbridge, Virginia; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
