Gilbert Pesina, Jr.

            Funeral service for Gilbert Pesina, Jr., age 30, of Frederick, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2019, at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Shane Kendrix, pastor, officiating.

            Mr. Pesina passed away Friday, March 22, 2019, at his home in Frederick.

            Private family burial will be in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Orr Gray Gish Funeral Home.

            He was born April 22, 1988, in Frederick, Oklahoma. He attended Frederick schools and graduated from Frederick High School in 2007. He has lived in Frederick all his life. He had worked at Henniges Automotive, Miracle Lab Pest Control and he was employed as the Animal Control Officer for the City of Frederick at the time of his death. Gilbert lived his life for his children and family. He was so inspired by his own kids that he wanted to help others. He loved kids and had a passion for helping kids through sports. He was active and involved the past several years with SWOYSA (Southwest Oklahoma Youth Sports Association). He had been gearing up to help get another season of baseball/softball/t-ball together. He loved helping with all sports not only basketball and baseball, but flag football with the Frederick Quarterback Club too. He had been a coach to countless kids in this community and the surrounding area as well.

He is survived by his parents: Olivia and Michael McDowell; father: Gilbert Pesina, Sr., all of Frederick; two daughters: Lylah Gallaugher and Ophelia Marie Pesina; and a son: Gilbert Pesina III, all of the home in Frederick; two brothers: Gabriel Alexander Antonio Pesina and Jessica Gaytan and their daughter Audrey Reign Pesina; and Alexander Raphael Pesina and Mytecia Pesina and their daughter Ruth Marie Pesina, all of Frederick; maternal grandmother: Bertha Cuellar and husband Freddy; paternal grandmother: Yolanda Gonzalez; maternal great grandmother: Olivia Perez, all of Frederick; nine uncles, five aunts and numerous cousins, all of Frederick; special friends: Clinton Allen, Mathew Simien and Kerbie  Allen.

            He was preceded in death by two uncles: Pete Lopez, Jr. and Guadalupe Hinojosa; a cousin: Rashaad Stanford, Jr.; and great grandfather: Fermin Perez.
