Ida Mae English

Graveside services for Ida Mae English, age 85, of Keene, Texas, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2021, at the Frederick Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. English passed away Friday, April 16, 2021, at Ridgeview Rehabilitation and Care Center in Cleburne, Texas.

Burial is under the direction of Orr Gray Gish Funeral Home of Frederick.

She was born August 20, 1935, in Coleman, Texas to Carlton and Hays Hamilton.  She spent her childhood years in Coleman, Texas. On November 3, 1961, she wed Jessie James English in Cairo, Illinois.  In 1974 they moved to Frederick, Oklahoma, where her husband retired, and so that she could be closer to her mother who lived in Grandfield, Oklahoma.  In 1980 she and her mother moved to Keene, Texas, and that is where she retired.  She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Keene.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband. 

She is survived by her brother, Albert Hamilton and wife Leda of Cleburne, Texas; brother Carlton Hamilton, Jr., of El Paso, Texas; sister, Elizabeth Hamilton of El Paso, Texas; several nieces and nephews; and close cousins, Melba Bettis of Odessa, Texas; Billy Wayne Johnson of Odessa, Texas; and Wanda Ray Palmer of Boerne, Texas.
