He was born on April 20, 1933, to Lee M. and Lorena Alice (Howell) Lowery. It was a cold rainy night on Jack Creek, northwest of Chattanooga, OK. The roads were too muddy for the doctor to make that house call. So sometime during the night, (early morning) Jack(ie) Lee arrived, weighing in at one pound, twelve ounces. In May of 1936, while playing with fire, he managed to burn the house to the ground. However, he did save his boots, his dog and oh yes, his three month old little brother. He attended school at Manitou, OK; Enid, OK; Oklahoma City; LaPontes, TX, then back to Manitou, OK; then to Frederick, OK where he graduated in 1951.  He attended college at Cameron University in Lawton, OK and Oklahoma A&M College (OSU) in Stillwater, OK. He was united in marriage to ElDean Hagy on August 15, 1954. She preceded him in death on May 5, 2001. He was employed in the meat industry, including Wilson Meat Company and Gibson Meat Company. He married Carole G. Griffin on September 28, 2002. Jack was very active in church at the First United Methodist Church of Frederick where he taught Upper Room Connexion and served with most every ministry in the Church, he especially enjoyed tutoring the school students. He was also very active in civic affairs as well, serving on the Frederick Memorial Hospital and Nursing Center board of directors, the Frederick Carnegie Library Board, and he enjoyed serving meals on wheels and served as treasurer at the Frederick Nutrition Center and volunteered as well at the Tillman County Food Bank. He was recognized as the Frederick Lions Club Most Useful Citizen (Male) in 2014. Jack also worked at Orr Gray Gish Funeral Home for many years helping minister to families who had lost loved ones.

In addition to his parents and his first wife, he was preceded in death by a brother: Donald W. Lowery and his wife Elsie; a baby sister, who did not survive birth; his second mom, Vera (Edwards) Lowery; a grandson: Jonathan Osborn; and a son-in-law: Rick Osborn.

He is survived by his wife: Carole of the home; a daughter Donna G. Osborn; three sons: Mark A. Lowery, Cris D. Lowery and wife Danisa, and Jay R. Lowery and wife Katrina; a sister: Doris Weathers and husband Richard; a brother: Gordon Edwards and wife Janette; 11 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and two very, very special girls, Sarah and Laura Bennett.
