Word has been received of the death of James John “Jim” Hostak, age 81, of Frederick, Oklahoma.
Mr. Hostak passed away Thursday, February 28, 2019, at the Lawton Veterans Center. Private burial will be in the Hobart Rose Cemetery under the direction of Orr Gray Gish Funeral Home, of Frederick.
He was born May 4, 1937, in Kewaunee, Wisconsin, to Edward J. and Vivian (Hunsader) Hostak. He was raised in Kewaunee, Wisconsin and attended Holy Rosary Grade School and Kewaunee High School. He entered the United States Army in June 1955, at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He served during the Korean War and was honorably discharged June of 1958, at Fort Benning, Georgia. He was united in marriage to Mary Ballard on November 25, 1982, in Vernon, Texas. He hired on with Ryan Inc. Construction Co. in Janesville, Wisconsin, moving dirt as Job Superintendent, retiring in 1998 after 40 years. The Ryan family and his work colleagues were his second family. He loved them all dearly. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was an avid Green Packer football fan. He was born again in to the body of Christ in January of 1989.
He was preceded in death by a son: Scott Kinneman; four brothers: David, Joseph, Leon and Kenneth Hostak; and a sister: Donna Michaletz.
Survivors include his wife: Mary, of the home in Frederick, Oklahoma; two sons: Ronald W. Clark and wife Marilyn, of Guthrie; Craig D. Sorrels, of Frederick; two daughters: Marcy Welker and husband Blaine, of Homer, Michigan, and Kelly Baber, of Davidson; a brother: Alban Hostak and wife Irene, of Green Bay, Wisconsin; a sister: Mary Ann Angelas and husband Richard, of Arizona; 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
