John Russell Debardelaben, age 60, of Tipton, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2021, at a Lawton, Oklahoma, hospital.
A memorial service will be held in Texas at a later time.
Local arrangements are under the direction of Orr Gray Gish & Tipton Funeral Homes.
He was born October 29, 1960, in Columbus, Mississippi, to Lester and Helen (Adams) Debardelaben. He attended school and graduated from Conroe, Texas, in 1979. He enjoyed all sports but was an avid football player. “Big John” worked in various places across the country as an iron worker and crane operator most of his working life. He was united in marriage to Deborah Porter on April 18, 2002, at Gatlinburg, Tennessee. They eventually made their home in Tipton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Steve Debardelaben.
He is survived by his wife: Deborah Debardelaben, of the home in Tipton; sons: Zachary Debardelaben and wife Tiffany, of Cleveland, Texas, Bryan Herndon and wife Heather, of Mt. Belleview, Texas; two daughters: Taffany Dietell, and Kayla Herndon Meza and husband Jesse, of Tipton; three brothers: Rick, Randy and Roger Debardelaben; his mother-in-law: Janice Davis, of Splendora, Texas; 14 grandchildren: Krissy, Myah and Emma Debardelaben, Bryce, Madi and Tate Herndon, Bryan, Anna and Makayla Dietell, Kaiden, Kamaron Heyliger and Jessejames Meza, Lisa Payne and Christina Fobb; and three great grandchildren: Kaleb Payne, Gaberil Payne and Spencer Fobb.
