Jonathan Powell

            Funeral for Jonathan Powell, age 33, of Frederick, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, October 12, 2019, at the Orr Gray Gish Chapel with Rev. David Kirby, pastor of Tesca Baptist Church, officiating.

            Jonathan passed away Sunday, October 6, 2019, at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. Burial will be in the Chattanooga Cemetery, Chattanooga, Oklahoma, under the direction of Orr Gray Gish Funeral Home, Frederick.

            He was born November 13, 1985, in Vernon, Texas, to Marty and Rita (Matthew) Powell. He graduated from Davidson High School with the Class of 2003. Jonathan worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at nursing care centers in both Snyder and Frederick. He enjoyed just hanging out with friends, listening to music and playing video games. He also loved to go fishing.

            He was preceded in death by his grandmother: Mildred Rathbun; grandparents: Ed and Joy Matthew; aunts: Becky Franks and Ruby McKinney; and an uncle: Cecil Matthew.

            Survivors include his parents: Marty and Rita Powell, of Frederick; siblings: Marty Wayne Powell and wife Jamie, Jennifer Hudson and husband Bret, and Stephen Powell; niece: Emily Hudson; nephews: Ty Hudson and Blain Powell; aunt: Tina Diaz and husband Joe and numerous cousins.

            Memorial contributions may be provided to the Powell family at the funeral home in loving memory of Jonathan.
