Jose Hernandez Jr.

            Jose Hernandez Jr, age 81, of Tipton, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2022, at his home.

            Arrangements are under the direction of Orr Gray Gish & Tipton Funeral Homes.

            Per the wishes and request of Jose, there will be no formal services.

            He was born July 4, 1940, in Red Rock, Texas, to Jose and Martina Hernandez. He was raised in both Colorado and Oklahoma. He was united in marriage to Mary Chavez on February 22, 1963. He worked as a farm hand for many farmers around the area. He also worked at the Tipton Farmer’s COOP until his retirement.

            In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

            Survivors include his wife: Mary, of the home in Tipton; a son: Gilbert Hernandez, Tipton; a daughter: Olga Barnes, of Spokane, Washington; a brother: Richard Hernandez, of Evans, Colorado; seven grandchildren: Julia, Cameron, Steven, Mary Jo, Nelly, Lily, and Izzy; four great grandchildren: Jaci, Jaylin, Zella, and Bellamy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
