Jose Jesus Puentes Sr.

            Funeral service for Jose Jesus “Jessie” Puentes, age 74, of Frederick, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at the Orr Gray Chapel.

            Mr. Puentes passed away Thursday, June 23, 2022, at his home in Frederick.

            Visitation will be held Monday, June 27, 2022, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.           

            Burial will be in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery. 

            He was born September 20, 1947, in San Benito, Texas, to Florencio and Juanita Rivera Puentes. He attended San Benito and graduated from high school at Clovis, California in 1968. Jose had resided in Frederick for the past 50 years. He worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Texas Youth Commission in Vernon, Texas. Jose was a loving father and grandfather. Jose loved to minister, write songs and play instruments. He loved to spend time with family and friends. He loved to travel and go fishing on his free time. Most of all, Jose loved to serve the Lord.

            In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wives: Josefina Puentes on December 18, 2019, and Sandra Puentes on December 13, 2003; two brothers: Arnulfo Puentes and Juan Manuel Puentes; and a sister: Raquel Gaucin.

            He is survived by three sons: Jose J. Puentes Jr., Frederick, Jose Able Puentes, of Frederick, and Daniel Joe Puentes, of Berwick, Pennsylvania; a daughter: Lydia Rene Puentes, Albany, New York; two brothers: Florencio Puentes Jr., Frederick, and David Puentes, of Lawton; six sisters: Anastacia Vasquez, Frederick, Elena Richardson, Davidson, Lupe Arumugam, Frederick, Hortenicia Longoria, Frederick, Vale Perez, Frederick, and Maria Lesniak, of Frederick; six grandchildren: Amber E. Hernandez, Jose J. Puentes III, Jose Israel Puentes, Alicia M. Puentes, Melissa K. Puentes, Zayden A. Puentes, and Jozias E. Puentes; and six great grandchildren: Aniyah N. Guerrero, Ezmeriah C. Guerrero, Damian J. Puentes, Dominic E. Puentes, Vanessa A. Martinez, and Sondrea Young.
